  • Focus of Study :
    General English is a basic course to improve students' language skills while having plenty of free time on language holiday. Students will study all the key skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, and the course includes grammar and vocabulary too. The focus is on spoken English for everyday situations.

    Benefit, Goal of this course :
    This course is suitable for students who would like to become confident in English speaking of English and maximize their ability to use English in everyday situations. On the course you will develop your language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking), improve your knowledge of grammar and learn how to use it in practice.

Course Information

  • Focus of Study :
    Intensive English focuses on learning everyday English with an emphasis on fluent communication and practical language skills. This is a group course with classes of up to 12 or 15 people. This course adds an additional 7.5 hours of English to your core course. The additional 10 afternoon lessons each week will give you the opportunity to put into practice the new language learnt in the General English Course.

    This course is suitable for students who would like to become confident in English speaking and maximize their ability to use English in everyday situations. Intensive English is a group course which is ideal for learning everyday English with an emphasis on fluent communication and practical language skills.

    Curriculum :
    Intensive English includes two parts: 20 lessons of General English, which follows the same programme as our General English courses, and 10 further lessons of communication skills, which may be with different students
    - The General English component includes everyday English reading, writing and listening with an emphasis on speaking and practical communication in common situations, such as travelling, shopping, and leisure time. There will be support with grammar and pronunciation, and we will also introduce study skills to help you to become an efficient learner and to keep learning when you are out of the classroom.
    - The Intensive English component focuses on practical communication rather than grammar, and explores a greater range of situations and a wider use of language. Your teacher will choose materials and exercises to suit the interests of the class.

Course Information

  • Focus of Study :
    IELTS preparation is offered in conjunction with General English, with 20 lessons per week of General English in classes of no more than 12 or 15 students, and 10 lessons per week IELTS preparation in classes of up to 10 students.

    Benefit, Goal of this course : 
    IELTS Preparation program allows maximum flexibility and can be added to any of LAL's programmes. Private tuition gives you the opportunity to focus on individual needs – extra work on pronunciation, vocabulary building or English related to your business or professional life. We even offer a web-based course so you can study at home, or improve your English further before or after a traditional course.

    Curriculum :
    The General English component develops your everyday English skills, while the IELTS preparation course is focused on developing the skills needed for the IELTS exams. This includes English reading, writing, speaking and listening, with an emphasis on British or international English (for American English, TOEFL may be more suitable). You will use a wide range of materials to develop the language skill set required for the exam.
    Throughout the course your teacher will monitor your progress, and there will be tests and mock exams. LAL can arrange a formal IELTS test at the end of the course.

  • Homestay :
    LAL host homes are up to 45 minutes from the school. Staying with an English host home is a great way to discover the English way of life, and practise the English learned in our lessons. LAL works very closely with the acommodation agency, established for over 20 years, and we try to find a home which is just right. For people who book with a friend, LAL offers shared rooms as well. Choose from bed and breakfast or half board.
    Residence :
    - Grosvenor Hall: Grosvenor Hall is 2 minutes from the school. It is located behind LAL London across the road with a twin studio and nine single rooms in two flats available all year. During the summer LAL will occupy even more of this building giving access to more beds. All floors have apartments with five to seven single bedrooms sharing two bathrooms and a kitchen.
    - LAL Allied House: Allied House is two floors above the school. With only three double rooms and one twin room, the residence is more boutique in its offer than Grosvenor Hall, and extremely popular with LAL students.

ちょっと前ですが、ここで習った英語は今でもすごく役に立っています。

ＬＡＬはイギリスでは有名な語学学校です。
アジア系の学生が少ないですが、
ロンドン校には日本人スタッフの方もいるので
いざという時は頼れます。
授業も文法やリスニングやライティングなど
バランスよく組まれていると感じました。
ロンドンの中心部ではなくちょっと郊外にあるので
落ちついてて良かったです。
色んな大学と提携しているので大学進学を考えてる人にもお勧めです。
