  • Focus of Study : 
    Intensive English Program is designed to increase students' fluency in as short a time as possible, and to introduce a range of specialist subjects taught in Special Interest Groups.

    Benefit, Goal of this course : 
    This course is one of the most popular courses across Kings' five colleges. It has the right balance of hours of study to maximise fluency in a short period of time. Aside from the hours of General English, you will be able to choose from a range of Special Interest Groups.

    Curriculum : 
    Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary, Pronunciation
    The choice of subjects in Special Interest Groups will depend on the student's level of English and on the location, but might include:
    Communication Skills, Idioms and Further Vocabulary, Conversation Practice, Listening and Pronunciation, British Life and Culture, American Culture, Film Study, etc.

  • Homestay half-board/full-board :
    homestays are all very carefully selected and regularly inspected by our experienced Accommodation Officers. We have strong, long-term relationships with many local hosts including working families, couples, single people and retired people. All our hosts offer a warm welcome and comfortable accommodation. 
    - Single rooms year-round (twins are available during the summer)
    - Breakfast and dinner (half-board), breakfast, lunch and dinner (full-board)

    - Average location from college: Up to 30 minutes' walk or short bus ride.
    Student houses :
    Student houses in Oxford provide all the comforts of a traditional home plus the excitement of independent living. They are located in safe, friendly neighbourhoods, close to shops and transport links, a short bus ride from the College (up to 30 minutes) and offer spacious single bedrooms and communal living and dining areas. Student houses are available for bookings of 12 weeks or more.
    Student residence :
    Brand new premium residence features spacious single, en suite bedrooms in a contemporary building. It is located right in the heart of Oxford’s vibrant student quarter, with many cafes, bars and restaurants all in the neighbourhood, and a supermarket just 2 minutes’ walk away. There are on-site kitchen and laundry facilities, plus a live-in warden. The residence is a 15 minute walk from both St. Michaels and St. Josephs campuses. 
    Please note this residence is for students who are studying with us on Diploma of English, A-level or Foundation programmes and who are over 17 years old.
