Excel English Language School About the

  • Excel English is one of only five Quality English language schools in London. It is British Council accredited with many points of excellence, and is a founder member of English UK. We are also a proud member of The English Network, a group of established, experienced, independent English language schools that have a reputation in the market for quality and personal service. Our school has been managed by the same owner for 22  years, and we are highly respected and dedicated to excellence! Excel English is the only purpose built language school in London and is located in the beautiful area of Muswell Hill, surrounded by parks and gardens. Excel English is only 25 minutes from central London by public transport and has excellent transport links. Our experienced native English teachers receive weekly in-house training to provide the best available in education to our international students from around 50 different nationalities. All our accommodation is within walking distance or a short bus ride from the school, and is hand-picked by our own accommodation officer. Our priority is the service we provide to our students.  We pay attention to the details that turn a goodEnglish course into a great, life-changing experience.  For example, on their first day at school, all students receive a full introduction not just to the  school, but also to Muswell Hill and to central London, with a central London sightseeing walk included so that they quickly become confident in travelling around London with their new friends.

  • Focus of Study :
    eachers are trained native Englishspeakers with great experience of teaching English to foreign students. ExcelEnglish mainly focuses on making lessons interesting and enjoyable to maximizethe teaching efficiency. All teachers think about the needs of each studentwhen planning and students will have numerous opportunities for practicalEnglish learning.

    Benefit, Goal of this course :
    Strengths of classes at Excel Englishinclude: communicate with foreign speakers, review English students learned inthe past, read specially adapted or authentic texts, watching video clips andmore. During lessons, teachers will move around to make the class more active,and always encourage students to participate in all activities. With thesecarefully planned lessons and great teachers, students will be able to improvetheir English abilities in a very short period of time.

    Curriculum :
    Students will study all aspects of the language for 3 teaching hours per day. When students are not in class they will be able to enjoy London or use Excel's library to practice what you have learned. By the end of the course, communication and other language skills will have improved significantly and students will be much more confident using English. This course does not include any examination preparation but students can convert Intensive English course to full time at any time, with payment of a small extra fee. Intensive English classes take place in the morning from September to June.

Course Information

  • Curriculum :
    This is our most popular course as it helps you learn more English more quickly, but still have time to enjoy yourself in London. The  21 hours  per week include  15  hours of general English.   You  practise all the language skills with a mixture of speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading, vocabulary building, writing and grammar.  We use carefully chosen textbooks and modern methodology. In your additional 6 hours you work on different aspects of the language such as speaking and listening, improving your writing skills, advanced communication, or English for the workplace (basic business English for people near the start of their careers).  Homework is set and corrected every day and you also have regular private meetings with your teachers to discuss your progress.  By the end of your course, you will have improved your general and specialist English, increased your vocabulary and built your confidence. This course can be combined with some weeks of IELTS or Cambridge Examination Preparation. Our Super Intensive course can be taken during the afternoon (Sept-June) or during the morning.

  • Homestay
    If you choose Homestay Accommodation, you will stay in a private home with friendly English-speaking hosts. This gives you the opportunity to experience British culture and practise your English while living in a comfortable home.Homestay is our most popular type of accommodation, because it offers excellent value for money. All of our homestay accommodation is carefully inspected and selected by our Accommodation Manager, and offers a high standard of accommodation and care.  Our homestays are located within a reasonable distance of the school – either walking distance or on a direct bus route to Muswell Hill.Please note: During our busiest periods, we may use a quality accommodation agency accredited by the British Council to provide some of our homestay accommodation.  Please note all of these homestays will have been inspected by the accommodation agency. At these times your bus journey to school may be a little longer.

    Student Residence
    The residence is available all year round and offers 125 single rooms, all decorated to a high standard, as well as a gym, cafeteria, student lounge and games room and a very large garden.A student residence booking includes breakfast and an evening meal every day, as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday. You can choose from two types of room in the residence – Regular (washbasin in each room and shared toilets and showers) and Superior (en-suite bathroom).There are also a few twin rooms available for students who would like to share with a same-sex friend or relative – please contact us for availability and prices if you would like to take this option.

Surrounding Area

  • Excel English school is located in Muswell Hill which is a very safe village part of London. Muswell Hill is one of the most attractive residential locations in London with large parks and great sites for shopping, night-life, and dining. Also, students are only a few minutes away from London, can use public transport. London is over 2000 years old fascinating city. There are always more to see and learn in the city, and students will find London never ceasing to surprise them.

Facilities

  • Students will enjoy studying at Excel English because of the school’s specially designed building. Rooms are both interestingly shaped and have unique characters. More specifically, there is the reception office, comfortable classrooms with interactive whiteboards, a large self access centre where students can use PCs, and a student room where students can relax and socialize. There is also free WiFi available and full wheelchair access for students who are in need of wheel chairs.

Activity

  • Learning continues even outside of classrooms. Students will be able to practice English, learn more about London, and make friends through participating in activities. Activities will include visits to museum and art galleries, flights on the London Eye, boat trips on the River Thames visits to Madame Tussauds, and many more. There are time tables for activities schedule available for students.

Quality Englishはイギリスで最も優秀な語学学校だけが加入できる団体で、ロンドンでは5校のみが加盟しています。
なので信頼出来る学校だと思って選びました！
そのおかげか英語の実力は結構伸びました。
テストのスコアも伸びたので大満足です。
学校はロンドンにあるので、がやがやしてるかと思いきや、
校舎は緑豊かな高級住宅街の一角にあるのですごく落ち着いた環境で
学校生活を送れました。
先生たちもフレンドリーで良かったです。
