  • For over 50 years, students have chosen ELS to achieve their English language goals. With 12 class levels, state-of-the-art language technology centers, multiple testing services and university admission assistance, ELS ensures success through our personalized approach and commitment to student achievement.   • Focus of Study :
    The ELS Intensive English Programs use ELS' proven communicative approach to language learning. The Programs will challenge students' abilities and allow them to have fun while developing all language skills. Courses for both programs meet for 30 lessons per week, so the students are certain to learn quickly
     
    Benefit, Goal of this course :
    The program helps students improve English by focusing on the skills he will need to communicate well in everyday business and social settings. Morning classes focus on listening and speaking skills as well as vocabulary development and language structure. In Masters levels, students take one Skills 
    Enhancement Class in the morning. Afternoon classes are dedicated to Skills Enhancement Classes in every level.
     
    Curriculum :
    The development of important language skills and elements such as listening, speaking, pronunciation and vocabulary allows one to communicate accurately and effectively. Students
     practice conversation and other speaking skills using practical, real-world English. Students learn to develop strategic listening skills and improve your use of grammar.
     
    Skills Enhancement Classes allow him to customize his program to suit his individual interests.
    Sample classes include American Idioms, American Film, Current Events and American Culture*.
    Choices vary by location.
    In our modern Language Technology Centers, students work on their individual language skills and 
    objectives through technology-supported learning.Contact America! provides students with regular opportunities to meet with native English speakers, listen to guest lecturers and participate in local excursions.

    Benefit, Goal of this course
    If students want to learn English while still having time to visit local cities and attractions, the ELS Semi-Intensive English program is the perfect choice! Student will take classes in the morning and have afternoons free to explore and use his improving English.
     
    Curriculum : 
    The development of important language skills and elements, such as listening, speaking, pronunciation and vocabulary, allows him to communicate accurately and effectively.
     
    Students practice conversation and other speaking skills using practical, real-world English. Students learn 
    to write with accuracy and effectiveness, develop strategic listening skills and improve your use 
    of grammar.
     
    Students work on his individual language skills and objectives through technology-supported learning 
    in our modern Language Technology Centers.
     
    Contact America! provides student with regular opportunities to meet with native English speakers, visit
    and observe university courses, listen to guest lecturers and participate in local excursions

    Students who wish to study English while on vacation in the USA may do so in the ELS American Explorer Program.

Course information

  • Focus of Study :
    English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is set out to provide students with the fundamental academic tools they will need in order to study abroad. EAP will be the initiative to students' pursuit of higher education.

    Benefit, Goal of this course : 
    Students who enroll in EAP program will ultimately aim for conditional admissions to ELS' 650+ partner universities. Students who complete all 12 levels of Intensive EAP courses will be issued a Certificate of Completion which will prove students' English proficiency at more than 650 universities.

    Curriculum :
    Students at all levels will be offered Language Technology Center and Reading/Writing lessons. From beginner(101-103) to advanced(107-109), students will be provided with structure/speaking and vocabulary lessons while masters (110-112) will be provided with Skills Enhancement Class and Language Studies additionally.

    Key/Damage: $25 refundable key deposit $250 refundable damage deposit Students are required to pay both the key and damage deposits at the hotel upon arrival.
    Description: Each room has bunkbeds with railings, desks, minifridge lamps, linen (sheets/blankets,pillows provided) WIFI internet access. Both Herbert and Spauilding buildings have a student lounge with microwave, and laundry facilities. Spaulding building has a full kitchen where students from Herbert and Spaulding may cook bkfst, lunch, dinner. Both hotel buildings are operated by the same management and have the same furnishings. Students are placed by bed availability in either building and will be informed by Central Admissions which building they will live in before arrival.

高校卒業後大学進学を目指して
サンフランシスコダウンタウン校で勉強しています。

私のクラスは、大学進学向けのコースで、今は中級で勉強中です。
大学レベルの読解、ライティング、リスニング、スピーキングスキルなど大学進学に必要な総合的な英語力を身につけられます。

クラスの平均は時期によって多少の変動はありますが、基本的に12名くらいで構成されています。
クラスの国籍は中国の学生が少し多いです。アジア系の学生が多いと思います。
日本人学生も多くはないですがいるので、ここでも日本人の友達が出来ました!
日本人同士でも英語で会話しているので授業以外では日本語を使う機会はほとんどないですが、
海外の学生が日本語に興味のあるクラスメートがいるのでその子に教えたりしてます!

一人での海外生活、寮生活で初めは不安でしたが、クラスメートも講師の先生方もみんなフレンドリーなので
すぐ馴染めました!寮生活もクラス以外の学生と仲良くなれるのでお薦めだと思います!
