    Curriculum : This program features three morning lessons per day (Monday through Friday) for a total of 15 lessons per week. Afternoons are free for recreation and relaxation.

Course information

  • Focus of Study :
    English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is set out to provide students with the fundamental academic tools they will need in order to study abroad. EAP will be the initiative to students' pursuit of higher education.

    Benefit, Goal of this course : 
    Students who enroll in EAP program will ultimately aim for conditional admissions to ELS' 650+ partner universities. Students who complete all 12 levels of Intensive EAP courses will be issued a Certificate of Completion which will prove students' English proficiency at more than 650 universities.

    Curriculum :
    Students at all levels will be offered Language Technology Center and Reading/Writing lessons. From beginner(101-103) to advanced(107-109), students will be provided with structure/speaking and vocabulary lessons while masters (110-112) will be provided with Skills Enhancement Class and Language Studies additionally.

    Vantaggio Suites(10 minute walk to ELS) 1736 State Street San Diego, CA 92101 Room Type: - Vantagio Suites room prices are charged on a monthly basis. 
    Meals: No meals are included Min Age: Not Applicable Key/Damage: $100 to hold room kept as a security deposit due upon arrival (refundable after departure) 
    Description: Primary Residence Hotel, 10 minutes by foot to ELS/San Diego. Vantaggio Suites floors (but not rooms) are coed. Some American students are also housed here. Rooms have mini refrigerator and microwave. Linens, telephone and television is provided. Vantaggio offers a laundry room and computer rooms with Internet access. Most students stay in single studio rooms. Shared double studios are also available. Vantaggio arranges roommates for shared doubles unless a couple books together. A$20-$30 carpet cleaning fee is charged each month, price depending on room type.

Surrounding Area

  • Southern California is home to ELS/San Diego, located near downtown San Diego’s entertainment and shopping district. You can enjoy day trips to the beach, the world famous San Diego Zoo and Sea World®, or spend a weekend exploring Universal Studios Hollywood® or Disneyland®. San Diego’s very mild climate is considered by many to be the best in the United States. That makes the area ideal for the many festivals held throughout the year. There are also many restaurants, museums, art galleries, theatres, parks and professional sports. The San Diego area has moderate weather all year long with warm sunny days and cool nights. Students should bring sweaters or jackets for the evenings. It rains during the "rainy season" - December through April, and almost never rains from May through November.

Q:学校周辺の環境について教えて下さい。有名な観光地なども知りたいです。


A:はい。

サンディエゴはカリフォルニア州で2番目に大きい都市で、アメリカ西海岸最南端に位置しています。
年間を通して雨が少なく、温暖な気候ですので、街は常に活気に溢れています。

学校は街の中心部にあり、サンディエゴ動物園やバルボアパークも近く、
ショッピング街、映画館なども徒歩10分圏内の位置にあるので放課後や週末はお友達と出かける学生が多いです。

また、ディズニーランドやユニバーサルスタジオで有名なロサンゼルスまでは、
長距離バスで約2時間30分なので、週末を使って日帰りの旅行なども楽しむことが出来ます。

ELSサンディエゴ校に語学留学してきました。

コースは、短期間で集中して勉強したかったので集中英語コースを選びました。
私のクラスを担当してくれた先生は、ベテランの先生で、授業の進め方も上手で、分かり易かったです。
あれこれ私が質問してもすぐに答えてくれたので、本当に良い先生に当たったなあ、と思いました。
授業は結構会話の練習や、発音の練習をする機会が多かったので、スピーキングを強化したい私には有難かったです。
4週間で一つのセッションが終わるのですが、午後までみっちり授業があるので、なんだかあっという間に終わってしまいました。
私は自習しないと追いつけなかったので、クラスの友人に助けてもらいながら頑張りました。
なので、クラスの友人とはとても仲良くなれました。毎日一緒にご飯を食べて、勉強して、週末はあそんで、、
学校はサンディエゴにあるのですが、有名なサンディエゴの動物園にもちょくちょく行きました。
日本の動物園とはスケールが違って、何回も行かないと全部味わいつくせないです。
他にもテーマパークがあって、友人と一緒に遊びにいくのはとても楽しかったです。
もう少し長く居たいくらい良い街だったので、帰るのは名残惜しかったです。
またいつかいけたらいいなと思います。

今回、冬休みを利用して約1ヶ月間、サンディエゴ校に短期留学しました。

今回の留学は、”アメリカ観光もしつつ、英語の勉強も!”と決めていたので、
観光と勉強、どちらも思いっきりできそうなサンディエゴ校に決めました。

私が通っていたコースは、American Explorer Programというコースだったんですが、
短期の留学でもレベルアップしたい人!だけど観光もしたい学生向けのコースでした。
レベルによって授業内容が変わるみたいですが、私のクラスは、リスニング、スピーキングなど
総合的に授業しました!

観光も1ヶ月間とても楽しみました!
学校周辺にある、サンディエゴ動物園やバルボアパーク、ショッピング街にもよく行きましたし、
ロサンゼルスまでは、長距離バスで2時間半くらいだったので、
日帰りで週末旅行なども行きました!!!もちろんディズニーランドも^^

観光と勉強どっちも!という方には、サンディエゴ校心からおススメです!!
