  • For over 50 years, students have chosen ELS to achieve their English language goals. With 12 class levels, state-of-the-art language technology centers, multiple testing services and university admission assistance, ELS ensures success through our personalized approach and commitment to student achievement. ELS' rapidly globalizing world presents many challenges; however, those challenges bring with them many opportunities. Being able to communicate effectively in English can help students make the most of these opportunities and enable student to accomplish his dreams. ELS International Pathways provide one with a seamless journey to further education. Students can study English with ELS in 83 different locations in 11 countries. By completing the ELS English for Academic Purposes program, student satisfy the English requirement for more than 650 ELS partner universities worldwide. ELS University Admission Services will guide students from start to finish as he progress toward his chosen university. Students will make new friends from around the world and come to understand their cultures. This will ensure one a successful journey through a rapidly changing, globalizing world.

About the  Johnson & Wales University - Charlotte Campus

  • ELS/Charlotte is located next to the Johnson & Wales University - Charlotte Campus. ELS students have access to campus facilities. The Center is in a beautiful urban location in Charlotte's vibrant Uptown City Center, close to many cultural, sports and entertainment attractions. The newly-designed and renovated Center features a lobby, 11 spacious and very comfortable classrooms, a 25-station Language Technology Center with room for future expansion, five administrative offices and two student lounges. Students can access dining and shopping within walking distance or a short ride on the "Goldrusher," Charlotte's free Uptown public trolley-bus system. Charlotte, the second largest financial center in the U.S., is a medium-sized city, but has all of the big-city services that students desire. It is the largest city in the southeastern U.S. between Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, GA.

Conditional admission

  • With over level 112 in ELS, students can be accepted to Bachelor and Master's programs at Queens University of Charlotte. Both Undergraduate and Graduate schools issue a CLA to students.

    Meals: No meals included. Students prepare meals in their apartments or can take meals in surrounding restaurants.

    Description: Students share double rooms in 2-bedroom luxury apartments located only 4 blocks from the ELS Center. Each bedroom includes 2 beds, desk, chair, a dresser with mirror and a spacious closet. Each apartment has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen cooking facilities, and furnished living and dining areas. Linens/towels also included. Students clean their own apartments during their stay. Wireless internet access and cable TV are provided in all apartments. All apartments are non-smoking. Apartment community amenities include a swimming pool/fitness center, a business
    center, an outdoor clubhouse for resident socials, secured parking available, and a laundry center with coin-operated washers and dryers. *All students will also have access to all Queens University Facilities

    Description: Some host families drive ELS students to the Center in the morning and pick them up in the evening. Other students take a public bus to the Center. No homes are within walking distance. Travel time is typically 20-30 minutes or less to the ELS Center.

Surrounding Area

  • ELS/Charlotte, located in the SouthPark area of Charlotte in Park Sewyn building complex, is between the Queens University main campus and its new Sports Complex. The Center is minutes away from the clean and modern city center and major shopping areas such as Parktowne Village and the upscale SouthPark Mall. Students can enjoy a wide range of sports and entertainment events in the city. The scenic Appalachian Mountains and sparking Carolina beaches are just a few hours away. Recently, Charlotte was named "America's Best Place to Live" on Relocate-America.com.  At the heart of North Carolina, Charlotte downtown holds many cultural attractions for students to enjoy including concerts, museums, professional sports, shopping and cultural festivals. Epicenter Entertainment Complex houses theaters, bowling arena, restaurants and clubs for students' leisure time. For students who enjoy nature, U.S. National Whitewater Center is near by with outdoor sports activities including whitewater rafting, kayaking, biking, zip lining, and wall climbing. Other attractions include Carowinds Amusement and Water Park, Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center, Lakes Norman and Wiley for swimming, boating and sailing. North Carolina has warm summers from June to August.Winters are mild compared to the North but can have some cool weather and occasional snow.

  • Students from all over the world with different nationality and cultural background have chosen ELS program to study English in a new Environment. Majority of the students come from Asian countries including Japan (30%), Taiwan (25%) and Korea (20%). Some students from Central America (6%), Europe(9%) and Middle eastern countries (4%) have also chose ELS to enrich their English skills.

校的活動很多,設施也會不定期更新,每個周末都有安排活動帶學生出遊,

老師教學方式活潑,也很有耐心,每堂課的內容雖然不同,但都注重再加強同學的聽說讀寫部分,
每學期舉辦兩次英語能力測驗的考試,便利於要進修的學生,也而外開選修課提供給學生參加.
學生都來自世界各地,不過大都來中東像是沙烏地阿拉伯,印度;以及韓國.日本.和中國各地的亞洲地區,除了可以認識各個地方不同的文化之外,也可以訓練聽除了美式以外的口音~~
這是一個以著名的旅遊城市這是著名的美食,音樂和歷史街區。
因為去附近旅行都很方便很近,因此常常與其他同學一起去旅行~~ 有很多很美好得回憶^^

大学進学のために、半年間通いました。
現在は、無事大学進学ができ、楽しい大学生活を送っています。

私が通っていたコースは、大学進学を考えている学生向けのコースなので、
大学レベルで勉強するのに必要な読解、文章力や単語力を伸ばすことが目的の授業進行になります。
大学に進学したい今、とても良い授業だったと実感しています。

語学学校に通っていた半年間は、ホームステイをしていました。
私は、基本的な日常会話はスムーズに出来るレベルだったので、ホームステイをしながら
特に不便なことはなかったですし、ファミリーもみんなとても親切で毎日ご飯も美味しく、半年間でだいぶ太りました笑
ただ、学校から自宅までの距離が少しと遠かったです!ですが、天気のいい日はゆっくり散歩しながら帰ったのもそれなりに楽しかったです!

会話力を伸ばしたい方にホームステイお薦めです!
