Since ounding, it has grown to 7 company-owned locations in Spain and Latin America and a network of more than 30 partner schools, largely through the recommendation of more than 150,000 satisfied students. At don Quijote, the watchwords are Quality, Innovation and Partnership. Location

Accommodation

  • Homestay
Home stays offer students a unique opportunity to experience Spanish life while living in the home of a local Spanish speaking family. Students will speak Spanish all day long, out of necessity and fun and interest in the family life they see unfolding around them. Accommodation in a host family allows them to get the most out of their language course as it gives them a privileged view of daily life in another culture. Students can choose from a room with breakfast, half-board (breakfast and either a cooked meal in the afternoon at about two o'clock or light dinner at ten) or full-board (breakfast and two meals). Students will eat at local hours - usually later than what they may be accustomed to- and students will eat local foods, although the family will take their preferences into account as much as possible. Students will be given their own house keys, so they can come and go as they please. Students will also be able to receive phone calls at the family home.

Apartments in Spain and Mexico for don Quijote Students
Students can choose to share a student apartment with four or five don Quijote students. In a student apartment students will prepare their own meals and interact with don Quijote students of all ages and backgrounds. It is recommended that students make a pact about speaking Spanish in the apartment; other shared languages often take students away from Spanish language practice. Although the student apartments are not very luxurious, they include all the basic facilities: a bed, table or desk, chair and a closet wardrobe. Each student apartment has a living room with TV, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine and an iron. No telephones are available in student flats; we suggest you use public telephones or local calling centers. Students share the kitchen and the bathroom and, together, keep the house clean.

    Spanish Student Residences
If looking for an inviting and well-equipped stay just a quick walk from your classroom, the student residences may be the ideal accommodation. The Spanish student residences have a youthful, international feel and offer students all they will need in one building: laundry facilities, TV, prepared meals or shared do-it-yourself kitchens, and areas for studying and socializing. All of the student residences offer individual, shared and triple rooms, shared TV, shared living/dining rooms and washing machines. Bed linens are provided; it is suggested that students bring their own towels, for maximum comfort.

Surrounding Area

  • Granada is the capital of the southern Spanish province of the same name, situated in the eastern part of the region of Andalusia. Geographical and scenic diversity characterizes this land. There is the coastal area with its warm climate; the extensive, fertile Genil plain; and the mountainous regions with a colder climate, where one finds the 3.481 meter Mulhacén, the highest peak of the peninsula of Spain. The city of Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where the Darro and Genil rivers meet. Its unique history has bestowed it with an artistic grandeur as the last Moorish capital on the Iberian Peninsula, embracing its Moorish palaces and Christian Renaissance treasures which hold great symbolic value.

    The Granada's Cathedral
The city of Granada has been shaped by the hills brimming with steep, narrow streets, beautiful nooks and crannies, and marvelous landscapes - hills where the old districts in of the Albaicín and the Alhambra Palace were founded. The new part of the city is situated on the plain, crisscrossed by the large streets of Gran Vía de Colón and Calle de los Reyes Católicos, and where the busy streets around the Cathedral are found.

Facilities

  • Just like all other don Quijote schools, the Granada language school is equipped with modern teaching aids such as computers and audio-visual equipment. The recreation room is on the lower level. Here, students can watch TV or a video, listen to music, read books or newspapers, play board games or darts, etc. The school is located in a safe, quiet area in the city center, just a stone's throw from the cathedral and within walking distance of the Alhambra Palace, and the Albaicin. Buses depart not far from the school almost every hour for the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Mediterranean coast. The 5-story building has centralized heating and air conditioning throughout the building, powerful Wi-Fi, with access from all points of the buildingRecreation area full equipped with TV, DVD, Hi-Fi, library and games.

Activity

  • The school offers daily cultural activities and weekend sightseeing excursions to engage students in the rich culture of the host cities. From the moment students arrive, the school will invite students to live Spanish as they learn Spanish.
