Our language institute was founded in 1980 and has since developed into one of the largest private language schools in Berlin. With the political upheavals of 1989/1990 in Europe, “German as a foreign language” gained international importance, especially in Central and Eastern Europe. This also meant a strong increase in the number of students for our school. In 1993 the language institute was renamed and got its current name, BSI Sprachenschule GmbH, Berlin. Today, students from all continents attend our courses. Thirty ongoing courses with an average total of 600 participants illustrate the great interest and enduring popularity of the school. Many students choose this school in order to create a broad basis for later studies at Berlin universities. However, our courses are also preferred by au pairs, newcomers to Berlin and students who need German for their job. The concentrated language work in a pleasant atmosphere makes many students come back to school again and again, whether to maintain old contacts or to refresh things they have forgotten in courses. Highly qualified, experienced and committed teachers form the basis of a successful and recognized language school. Of course, all teachers are native speakers.
