We are a school on a human scale. Our students appreciate the friendliness and atmosphere that prevails at IFALPES, in classes as , so that all IFALPES students feel at home.

IFALPES teachers, all of whom are native French speakers, have extensive experience in teaching French to foreigners. They are all graduates in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) and are passionate about their profession. In order for our students to benefit from maximum speaking time, our classes average 10 students per group (maximum 15). This limited number of students per class, allows our teachers to set up an active pedagogy and, for each pupil, to participate as much as possible in the group.For many years, IFALPES has obtained different quality labels: Equals, FLE quality label…This accreditation process allows us to evaluate our practices every day, to regularly question ourselves in order to progress in our work and to offer our students a guarantee of reliability and quality.

Apart’ hotels + individual studios

The accommodation service offers you a service of reserving apartments, studios, or rooms in hotels that we know and with which we work regularly.

We also offer individual studios located in Annecy and its surroundings, do not hesitate to contact the housing department for more information.

Accommodation with a host family

All our families have Wifi at home.

All stays include an arrival on the Sunday before the course and a departure on the Saturday of the last week of the course. If you wish to arrive or stay an extra night, we ask you to inform the accommodation department as soon as possible so that they can study your request according to the family’s availability.

Student lodgings

Booking possible all year round depending on the availability of the establishment.

Located 20 minutes by bus or bicycle from IFALPES.

Basic comfort, room with a sink, office and storage. Shower and toilets are shared with 4 residents. Kitchen on each floor.

General facilities include a common-room with a study-area, a light and spacious hall, a cafeteria, a TV area and a ping pong area and a laundry room with washing and drying machines.

University residence

Only available in summer, located a stone’s throw from the lake, 20 minutes by bus or 10 minutes by bike from IFALPES.

Possibility of having a room with a view of the lake, subject to availability.

Standard comfort, room with shower & individual toilets. Kitchen on each floor.

With its history, Annecy is a city with a rich artistic and cultural heritage. There are museums and art galleries to visit. Throughout the year, many events are organized by the city.

Every month, IFALPES offers different outings and cultural activities in the city (visiting museums, exhibitions, tasting regional products …) but also on famous sites in the region

LA FÊTE DU LAC

At the beginning of August, every year, the lake becomes the stage for the biggest pyrotechnic show in Europe… For more than an hour and a half, you will be treated to a fireworks display punctuated by music, lights and water special effects … This grandiose spectacle has its origins in the Venetian celebration given in 1860 in honour of the arrival of Napoleon III. A show to see at least once in a lifetime!

LE FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DU FILM D’ANIMATION

Created in 1960, FIFA has become a world-renowned event. The festival takes place every year at the beginning of June and offers an official selection of cartoon-style films, cut-out papers, plasticine, stop motion and 3D.

LE FESTIVAL DES PAYSAGES

You will be seduced by the 20 or so artistic and thought provoking installations, all located in emblematic sites of Annecy.

SAISON AU HARAS

In May, you can enjoy a sumptuous landscaped park in a 19th century heritage site. Concerts, theatre, open-air cinema, exhibitions, the place thrives to the great pleasure of the participants.

Activities in Annecy with IFALPES

Annecy is the capital of Haute Savoie region, homeland of many famous ski resort such as Chamonix Mont-Blanc, Morzine, Les Gets and many others. Close to the school (≅ 1 hour by bus) you can find Le Grand Bornand, La Clusaz, Manigod and Semnoz ski resort.

Ifalpes organize every week-end from January till March, ski trips to various ski resort (Les Arcs, Combloux, Meribel…). Don’t hesitate to check our special program French + Ski available at this period. Snowshoeing afternoon trip with a guide is also part of the winter activities.
