    Globalization and emerging technologies are ever-changing business opportunities and effective management styles. Learn the skills you need to succeed in business management in an international context. In this program, you will explore a broad range of business basics and management fundamentals. Courses include global business, workplace communications, finance, marketing, human resources, international trade, and project management.

    This program fosters development of effective management skills including critical thinking, creative problem solving, communication, organization, and leadership. A special emphasis is placed on the communication skills required to succeed in the Canadian and International work environment, as well as learning to manage and lead in the increasingly multi-cultural and technology-driven marketplace.

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years


    Education: Completed (graduated from) your final year of general/secondary level schooling. Toronto applicants must provide a copy of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or have passed the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam with a Cut Score of 16. Contact Us if you like to take the Wonderlic Exam.


    Language Skills: Students must demonstrate an intermediate level/Level 5 English with Tamwood Careers’ online test and admission interview. The online test and interview are exempt if CEFR B2, IELTS 5.0, TOEFL iBT 46-59, Cambridge PET (Merit), Tamwood Language Centre’s Level 5, or proof of successful completion of Tamwood Language Centre EAP 192 is presented.

  • Focus of Study :
    This workplace readiness program is designed for international students seeking training in and knowledge of transferable soft skills for the international or Canadian workplace. Students gain the essential industry knowledge and skills in customer service, hospitality, and tourism to allow them to be successful in entry to intermediate level positions in a broad range of related employment settings; for example, hotels, motels, resorts, restaurants, convention centres and on cruise ships.

캐나다에 온 계기 그리고 Tamwood 를 선택하게 된 이유
저는 어릴 때 부터 언어를 배우는것을 좋아했고 능숙하게 잘하지 못하지만 듣고 이해하고 말하는 것에 행복을 느꼈습니다. 그러다 치과위생사로 직장생활을 하며 외국환자를 응대하다 문득 나는 외국환자들과 소통할때 행복감이 배가 되는구나를 느껴 해외로 가고자 하는 마음에 불을 붙이게 된 것 같습니다. 마침 제 고등학교 친구가 캐나다에 있었고, 도심속의 자연이 돋보이는 벤쿠버로 선택을 하게 되었습니다. 그 과정에서 Tamwood 라는 곳을 알게 되었고, 잘 구성된 프로그램과 유학생에게 부담스럽지 않은 합리적인 가격, 한국인 비중이 작은 점에 큰 매력을 느끼게 되었습니다. 해외에 나와 한국사람을 보면 반가워서 한국말을 계속 쓰게 되고 편한길을 추구해 영어는 늘지 않는다는 말을 많이 들어, 저에게는 한국인 비중에 작은 것이 큰 장점으로 다가왔습니다.



탐우드 만의 장점 저는 한국에서 독립한적 없이 쭉 부모님의 그늘아래서 지내다 이번이 첫 독립 첫 유학, 첫 해외로 나온거라 시행착오도 많았고 흔들리는게 많았는데, 탐우드의 선생님들은 학생의 입장에서 상황을 이해해주시고 좋은 방향으로 길을 잡아 줄 수 있도록 길잡이 역할을 잘 해주셔서 아무 문제없이 적응을 잘 할 수 있었고 선생님들의 배려를 잘 느낄 수 있어 탐우드를 다니는 내내 이곳을 선택하기 잘 했다는 생각이 들었습니다. 또한 친절하신 한국 스태프 선생님이 계셔서 급한 일이 생기거나 곤란한 상황이 생길 때 언제든 도움을 받을 수 있었고, 수시로 적응은 잘 하고 있는지 체크를 해주시고 항상 캐어를 받는 느낌을 받을 수 있어 좋았습니다.

저희가 이때까지 한국에서 받아온 주입식 교육과정과는 다르게 스스로 생각하게 많이 만들어주시고 수업시간에 많은 질문과 발표를 통해 친구들과 자연스럽게 친해지고 영어로 말을 할 수 있는 기회가 많아 빠르게 영어가 늘 수 있습니다. 한국인의 비중이 작아 항상 영어로 소통해야 해서 영어가 늘 수밖에 없는 환경을 만들어 놓으셔서 너무 좋았습니다.

앞으로의 목표와 계획은 어떻게 되시나요? 원래 캐나다에 온지 하루만에 한국에 돌아가고 싶었던 제가 지금은 캐나다의 영주권을 노리고 있습니다. 탐우드에서 배운 것을 토대로 캐나다 사회에서 살아보고 싶고 한국과 캐나다를 자유자재로 돌아다니는 것이 저의 목표입니다.



미래의 탐우드 학생들에게 해주고 싶은 조언이나 응원 영어실력이 부족하다고 주눅들지 말고 부족하면 부족한대로 무조건 뱉고 얘기를 하고 한국에서 캐나다로 오고자 결심했을 때 무엇을 위해 온건지 집중하세요! 영어면 영어 경험이면 경험 그것만 생각하구 학교에서의 생활을 활기차게 보내시길 바래요! 여기 온 친구들 모두가 새로 배우고 다른 국가의 친구들을 만나기 위해 온 것이니 지내다 보면 졸업하고도 연락할 친구가 생기고 다 인연이 된답니다. 국가는 달라도 마음이 맞는 친구가 꼭 있으니 마음을 열고 영어로 대화하려고 시도하고 다가가길 바래요!
