Why This School?

  • - The program from Nursery (2 years old) to KG 2 (5-6 years old) is based on play-based education according to the Reggio Emilia approach.
    - The child, the subject of learning, is encouraged to express himself in creative and symbolic ways through a variety of activities, and the classroom plays an important role as a third educator.
    - Up to G2, we run a bilingual program based on Chinese and English, and from Pre-K to KG 2, we study four topics (UOI).

  • As an international school with a diverse student population, XCL World Academy understands how important it is for students to have globally recognised qualifications that enable families to move with ease around the world. To support this, XCL World Academy students undertake International Baccalaureate (IB) authorised study in the Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP), and Diploma Programmes (DP).

  • XCL World Academy was selected to embody and preserve the unique identity of the school, shaped since its foundation, whilst introducing XCL Education as a partner for the future. XCL is a gramogram of the word excel, derived from the latin word ‘celsus’ which means to rise and surpass. The words ‘World Academy’, reflect the mission and values of the school, highlighting the diverse and multicultural constitution of the community, as well as the global perspective that we seek to embed in every child’s learning. It is fully aligned with XCL Education’s ethos of preparing our students for global roles in a changing world and the careers of tomorrow.
