  • Founded in 1984, New Zealand Language Centres (NZLC) is one of the oldest and largest private English language schools in New Zealand, with campuses in Auckland. The Auckland main campus is located at 242 Queen Street, Auckland 1010, in the heart of the CBD, putting students at the center of city life and culture. NZLC is registered and audited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), and an EER conducted in November 2023 rated NZLC "Highly Confident in educational performance" and "Highly confident in capability in self-assessment," confirming its Category 1 status. NZLC is also a foundation member of English New Zealand, an approved CELTA Training Centre, and a Cambridge TKT Testing Centre, ensuring internationally validated teaching quality. The school offers an extensive course range including General English, Business English, IELTS, Cambridge FCE/CAE, Pathway Programme, Young Learners (13–17), CELTA/TESOL teacher training, and Group Study Tours.   • NZLC offers a variety of accommodation options. First, Homestay provides students with NZLC-inspected and approved Kiwi families, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Second, City Apartment is ideal for students who want independent downtown living. Third, OAKS Harbour, a 4.5-star hotel located a 10-minute walk from school, includes excellent facilities such as a sauna, gym, and swimming pool. Fourth, Hostel/Backpackers is a budget-friendly option offering shared or private rooms. Finally, Shared Accommodation is recommended once students are settled in New Zealand, with a notice board in the student lounge and guidance from the NZLC Student Services team.

  • NZLC's Auckland campus is located in the heart of downtown Queen Street in Auckland, New Zealand's largest city. The school is just a 3 to 5-minute walk from the beautiful Viaduct Harbour, Sky Tower, and America's Cup Village, with Britomart Train Station (central station) and the central bus terminal also within walking distance. The surrounding area is rich with restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping malls, supermarkets, and markets, allowing students to enjoy both the vibrant city lifestyle and the marine sports culture of Auckland, known as the 'City of Sails.' Situated between two natural harbours, the location also provides easy access to water sports such as kayaking, sailing, and swimming.

  • NZLC Auckland campus is equipped with a variety of facilities to support both study and relaxation. Students can socialize at the Student Lounge, use the Computer Room for research and assignments, focus on their studies in the Study Room, and access free Wi-Fi throughout the campus. The campus is located on Level 3, 242 Queen Street, with multiple modern classrooms. Additionally, just outside the school, students will find a swimming pool, gym, library, shopping centres, supermarkets, and a wide range of cafes and restaurants, all within walking distance, ensuring great convenience in daily life.


Activity

  • NZLC offers a wide range of after-school activities. Cultural and sightseeing activities include Beach Picnics, Museum Visits, SUP Boarding, sailing in Viaduct Harbour, and visits to Kiwi bird and sheep farms. Free workshops include the Job Workshop (covering IRD number applications, English CV writing, and interview practice), Conversation Club, News Club, Pronunciation Workshop, TOEIC Preparation, and CV Check. Weekend trips to popular destinations such as Rotorua, Coromandel, Bay of Islands, and Hobbiton are scheduled every week through NZLC's partner company. Additionally, NZLC's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme organizes regular volunteer activities such as tree planting and beach clean-ups, allowing students to practise English while gaining meaningful experiences.

Getting to the school from the airport

  • There are several ways to travel from Auckland Airport to NZLC. First, the NZLC Pickup Service is a direct pickup arranged by the school, requires advance booking, and is mandatory for Young Learner students. Second, the SkyBus operates 24/7 and costs approximately NZ$20 one-way to the city centre. Third, SuperShuttle is a shared shuttle service costing around NZ$40, requiring online pre-booking. Fourth, taking a taxi costs approximately NZ$65 to $75, which may increase during heavy traffic hours.
