  • The University has a strong, international focus, with campuses in Perth, Sydney, Singapore and Sarawak, offering internationally recognised courses that prepare you to work in the competitive global market.Delivering its programs in Singapore since 1986, Curtin took its relationship with Singapore one step further when we inaugurated our Curtin Singapore campus in 2008.The  S$20 million campus is located in the heart of Singapore city and offers our students a conducive and safe study environment. The campus has the following facilities, and intends to continuously improve and introduce new facilities in the years to come.

Course Information

  • Focus of Study : 
    The general objectives of general English program are to prepare students for exam courses, academic English courses for college entry and independent studies. After completing the course, students will be able to fluently use English both in and out of classroom 

    Benefit, Goal of this course : 
    The best part of this program is that is is extremely practical. Students will be taught how to use English in real life situations, and they will learn the necessary language skills and gain the confidence to travel and work among native English speakers. 

    Curriculum : 
    Curriculum includes 3 major levels, and for each level, there are different sublevels. For instance, General English 1 includes CEFR A1&A2, and level 2 includes CEFR B1&B2, and level 3 has CEFR B2& C1. Classes start at 8:20am and ends at 2:30 pm

  • There are three types of accommodation choices. Students can either choose to Homestay, or to live on-campus, and live independently (backpacker, guest-house, hostel, or hotel). For Homestay,students will be able to live with Australian families who live within 40 minutes by public transport. For On-campus residence, only Navitas English Darwin students will be able to apply for housing.

Surrounding Area

  • Singapore is a small country on a small island; however, with more than 50% covered with green, it is a beautiful garden city surrounded by beautiful beaches. Singapore has a very diverse and fascinating variety of districts including Chinatown, Little India, and world-class shopping area. There are also a great theme park and a casino..

Facilities

  • Classes, computer area, study area, snack bars, café, exercise area and more.

Activity

  • If students want to relax, they can visit great areas in Singapore like Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay—and enjoy water sports such as water ski, surfing, swimming and more. There are also other outdoor sports facilities where students can exercise.

這是我人生中第一次出國，也是第一次自己一個人遠行。最開始出國的初衷就只是希望能夠把語文能力提升，長時間的課程加上實際的生活體驗，讓我得到的不僅僅只是語文能力的提升，更多的是文化與實際生活體驗所帶來的影響。在新加坡的這段時間，除了上課之外，因為希望可以遊覽整個國家，所以也自己著手開始規畫行程。從最開始的規劃、自己找相關的資訊、報名參加活動，所有的過程都是自己獨立完成。之所以能夠自己一手完成這些，我想是因為在新加坡上課的過程中，學校老師給的鼓勵，所以在很多需要英語溝通的地方自己都變得相對於以往有自信，然而寄宿家庭也帶給我莫大的影響，他們教我用正向的態度去面對遇到的難題。我記憶中很深刻的事情是，有幾天我因為新加坡連續幾天的大太陽而顯得有些煩悶，然而家庭告訴我說：如果沒有這些太陽，你來到這裡就看不到這麼美麗的風景。雖然只是很簡單的幾句話，影響卻很大。在還沒有出發之前，我想我和很多人都一樣，認為出國是一件算還蠻了不起的事情，好像出去一趟就會有所成就，一切都會很順利，但事實上並非如此，不是所有的一切都像想像中美好，生活上還是會有許多大大小小的問題需要自己想辦法解決，藉由這次的留學也讓我成長了許多~~^^
