About the  SRH Hochschule Heidelberg

  • Pointing people towards their future, supporting them in maximising their employment potential, and individually shaping their education – this is what we are passionate about. Founded in 1969, SRH University Heidelberg originally concentrated on rehabilitation in employment. 40 students from engineering, 60 from business administration and 30 from architecture came to us that first year to study. Today, there are over 3,400 students from 65 countries who are preparing for their careers with us. They have put their trust in our innovative study model, for which we received the Genius Loci Award for Excellence in Teaching from Stifterverband in 2018. Today, just as then, we are guiding them on their path to the future with passion.

Course information

  • Focus of Study :
Our degree programs are as individual as our students: With us, you will find a Bachelor's degree program that suits you, your passions, your professional goals and your life. What they have in common is that we prepare you individually, in small groups and according to our university's own study model, the CORE principle, for your future job.

Benefit, Goal of this course :
    - International Business
Our degree programme International Business offers not only the content comparable to the German bachelor programme but on top provides you with intercultural competences, and precious experiences abroad: Your semester abroad will not only boost your foreign language(s) – for many students it is an experience echoing throughout their whole life. At times, important networks and contacts are built which are valuable for your future career. The integrated semester abroad at one of our partnering universities also offers you a very wide range of interesting topics to specialize in the academic area of your interest.

    - Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineers play a key role in the current technological transformation of mobility and energy technology. After studying electrical engineering at SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg, you will have all the skills you need to successfully plan, develop and maintain complex systems. You will also have the opportunity to specialise in areas of high social relevance: electromobility, energy technology and mobile robotics.

    -Business Engineering
Imagine you want to develop a product and sell it profitably. You will learn what you need to do this with us! You will learn to explain how scientific forces can attack a product (technical mechanics), why it may then fail (materials engineering), what manufacturing techniques are available to restore the product (production engineering), and what all this has to do with electrical engineering - this is how we lay the engineering foundations. Then we move on to economics:

    Curriculum :
    - International Business
Nowadays, an international and border-crossing mindset already constitutes an important qualification in its own right, and is highly valued in the job market. Students who understand different cultures, have a more inclusive mindset, and are aware of diverse business practices are highly sought-after. Our International Business program supports this by offering modules such as, for example

    Marketing
    Human Resources Management
    International Accounting
    International Law
    Operations Management
    International Taxation

    - Electrical Engineering
In addition to the necessary specialised knowledge, we will prepare you for your career entry in a targeted manner right from the start: In many exercises and interdisciplinary projects, you will solve practical problems both on your own and as part of a team. This will definitely prepare you for the challenges of the future: with a specialisation in electromobility, energy technology and mobile robotics, you will be qualified for the entire range of engineering activities in industry and public institutions.

    -Business Engineering
The programme focuses on innovation management, patent research and the basics of business administration. You will also acquire skills in automation technology, technical drawing, programming, quality management and production.

Location

Accommodation

  • There are several dorms on campus, furnished with a bed, mattress, desk, chair, bookshelf, and wardrobe. Some have private bathrooms and some have shared kitchens.

The apartments are centrally located in a quiet neighbourhood. There is a wide range of sports activities and health services directly on the SRH campus, as well as shops and bus / tram stops within walking distance. The river Neckar is only a few minutes‘ walk away, and the romantic city centre of historic Heidelberg is a mere ten minutes bike-ride.

Surrounding Area

  • As one in five residents of Heidelberg is a student, there is a multitude of bars, bistros, coffeehouses, and cultural meeting points in the Old Town of Heidelberg.

Castle Illumination: In memory of the destruction of the Heidelberg Castle by the French General Melac and his troops over 300 years ago, the castle walls turn blood red and brilliant fireworks are launched from the Old Bridge. The castle illumination takes place several times a year and starts after dusk.

Old Town Autumn Festival takes place at the end of September, and the whole pedestrian zone of Heidelberg turns into one big party with lots of music, a medieval market, an art and crafts market, and a flea market.

Heidelberg Christmas Market starts at the end of November and ends two or one days before Christmas Eve. Over 140 stalls all over the Old Town of Heidelberg spread the spirit of Christmas.

Facilities

  • The SRH University Heidelberg is a campus university and we are proud of that: Our green campus is located directly on the river Neckar, in the quiet but central district of Wieblingen. Here you will find various gastronomic offers for lunch breaks, coffee in the morning or snacks in between. Study and work in our modern library or take advantage of our sports facilities at Campus Sports. For students who would like to live close to the university, there are numerous apartments available. Spacious greens invite you to spend breaks and small study sessions outdoors, especially in the summer months.

Activity

  • With SRH Campus Sports e. V., we offer you a sports club that leaves hardly anyone's wish unfulfilled: The facility has a weight room with modern strength and endurance equipment, an indoor swimming pool, a sports hall with a climbing wall, and basketball hoops, as well as an outdoor area with a street soccer facility and volleyball court. This year, SRH Campus Sports e. V. again received the seal of approval from the German Olympic Sports Federation "Sport pro Fitness".
