  • Nurturing both academic and personal development go hand in hand. Enshrined in family tradition dating back 200 years, this conviction is something we are very happy to be able to maintain and pass on at our boarding school. Educating young people in both these areas is indeed very close to our heart and we firmly believe that a boarding-school education is particularly suited to both encouraging and challenging a young person in this regard.

About the  Internatsschule Institut Lucius

  • The focus of our work lies in providing the encouragement and challenges required for every child to develop into a healthy, mindful adult. Our small boarding-school community (180 students) allows everyone to be seen. We hold good manners in high regard and attach particular importance to students living and learning alongside each other in a respectful and cheerful manner. Young people who have attended a boarding school are known to be independent and self-confident. They can organise themselves well, express their views and integrate well in a community. Friendships play an important role and often last a lifetime! Our compulsory study periods supervised by experienced members of staff, as well as regular report cards with an evaluation of learning behaviour, allow students not only to assess themselves correctly and set structured learning objectives but also achieve those objectives and ultimately enjoy a positive learning experience.

Programs

Course information

  • Focus of Study : 5th grade students prioritize English as a second language. Then select French as your second language. We intensively study Abitur's subjects: German, English, mathematics, biology, and a second foreign language.

    Benefit, Goal of this course : In preparation for the Abitur, the school holds a mock Abitur test day. Students graduate after completing oral and written exams in the Abitur exam.

    Classroom Hour : We are the only boarding school in Germany that is organized as a weekly school. This means that the children arrive on Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. The school and boarding school week ends for all classes on Friday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. Afterwards all the children go home. The boarding school is closed on weekends.

Surrounding Area

  • We are at home in Echzell in the beautiful Wetterau. Located directly on the A 45 (Wolfersheim exit) , we can be reached from Frankfurt in just over 30 minutes . Our campus is located outside of town, right on the edge of the forest. The natural environment offers ideal conditions for living and learning in a good community.

Facilities

  • The Forsthaus offers a large selection of sports facilities with two football pitches (one with floodlights and the other with a 400m cinder track), a basketball court, a beach volleyball court and a tennis court. Furthermore, the location right next to the forest offers the opportunity to jog in the forest, which many students like to do.

Activity

  • Our students receive support during lessons, especially in the upper grades in very small and intensively supervised advanced and basic courses. Support is also provided through additional offerings in the musical, artistic, sporting and media areas.
