Location

Accommodation

  • The dormitories at European Gymnasium Waldenburg are located directly on the school grounds. It has been in existence since 1994 and the number of boarding students has grown steadily since then. We usually stay in a double room at first and can move to a single room from Year 11 onwards if there is space available. On non-school days, students can use one of the four student kitchens to cook for themselves. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, educators are at the pupils' side to actively support them in all life situations. On the one hand, there is help with knowledge transfer and homework. Learning in study groups is the top priority here. The students in the boarding school get full board. This includes breakfast and multiple choices for lunch and dinner. In the afternoon, the care is tailored to the wishes of the students.

Surrounding Area

  • Waldenburg is a hilltop town in south central Germany, eastwards of Heilbronn in the Hohenlohe (district) of Baden-Württemberg. The town is the site of Waldenburg Castle and some hilltop churches. Waldenburg covers part of the natural Swabian-Franconian forest-hills and the Hohenloher-Haller plain.

Facilities

  • The west and east wings as well as the central building form the school building, in which all classrooms, specialist cabinets, other classrooms as well as the auditorium and canteen are located. The west wing of the school building has a sonorous large room with the auditorium, the jewel of which is the restored organ. Numerous events take place here, for example concerts by the chamber choir. The chamber choir and the subsequent chamber orchestra use this room, for example, at the Christmas concert. Under the direction of Dagmar Hanf, the chamber choir also performs at other concerts.

Activity

  • There are many activities such as football tournaments, ice skating, swimming, cinema, Prague tours or shopping tours. Halloween and Christmas parties are especially exciting, with students setting up a disco in the basement of the school. We also have our big summer party to say goodbye to our graduates after four years at boarding school with bands, disco, barbecues and games.
