About the  Evangelische Hochschule Berlin (EHB)

  • The EHB is a public corporation based in Berlin and is a state-recognised higher education institution.  It is self-governing and its management bodies are the Board of Trustees, the Rector, the Academic Senate and the Council. The supporting body of the university is the Evangelische Kirche Berlin-Brandenburg-schlesische Oberlausitz (EKBO – Protestant Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia).

    In addition to the two core tasks of teaching and research, the third pillar of the EHB is the area dealing with its third mission. The connected area of further education at the university offers job-related continuing education as well as ongoing academic education, research and knowledge transfer.

    The University Library has a media collection of over 95,000 monographs, 15,500 e-books, 130 currently in-print journals, 4,300 e-journals, AV media, theses and databases. The thematic focus of the library collection corresponds to the university's subject orientation: religious education, nursing and nursing science, childhood education, midwifery, social work, management. With the exception of the reference collections, these resources can all be borrowed.
