About the  DKFA

  • Deutschkurse bei der Universität München e.V. is a non-profit organization (registered under No. VR Nr. 8143 the Munich District Court). It runs German language courses in accordance with the articles of association, which have existed as "German courses for foreigners at the University of Munich" since 1952.

    CONCEPT AND QUALITY
    Deutschkurse bei der Universität München e.V. offers university preparatory and accompanying German courses for international students in accordance with the articles of association. In peer groups, students can learn quickly and intensively and - depending on the purpose of their stay in Germany - take exams required for university admission.

    OUR STRENGTHS
    We offer high quality language courses at student-friendly prices.
    ◾An intensive course program consists of six course levels (duration: approx. 2 months)
    ◾At the end of process is the DSH (German Language University Entrance Examination for Foreign Applicants) or the TestDaf (Test of German as a Foreign Language)

    Our ambitious goal:
    You pass these exams without previous knowledge after attending a one year course.

    ◾Special Courses (e.g., Fit for Work, Grammar Compact, Grammar Basic, Excellent German, Speak Better, Write Better, Speaking Practice Basic, Pronunciation Practice, Listening and Understanding)
    ◾MISU Summer Courses (with cultural program and accommodation service) and Standard Summer Courses
    ◾Specialist language courses: German for Students of Law
    ◾External and internal DSH (on behalf of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität of Munich)
    ◾TestDaf und TestDaF Training
    ◾Preparation for Studienkolleg (Bridging Course)


Course Information

  • In all Day Courses Intensive and Evening Courses Super Intensive you will work with groups of learners who are

    qualified to pursue academic studies (= Abitur or equivalent). Instruction is total immersion German.


    Participation is open to:
    ◾Prospective students
    ◾University students
    ◾Visiting scholars
    ◾Anyone with Abitur (= high-school graduation certificate giving access to German universities)

    We guarantee in all course levels:
    ◾Systematic teaching of the learning material
    ◾Rapid and meaningful progression
    ◾Well-constructed course plans that build on learning
    ◾Teaching material appropriate to your level
    ◾Regular homework and corrections
    ◾Regular tests for performance assessment

    The following services are free of charge to all students:
    ◾Placement test and examination support
    ◾Use of the learner media library and media labs
    ◾Preparation for listening tests

    ECTS credits: for regular attendance on our courses you will receive ECTS credits.

    DAY COURSES INTENSIVE

    Duration: 37 days of training with 20 lessons per week
    ◾Total: 148 lessons, spread over approx. 8 weeks
    ◾Morning classes:   Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 12:30
    ◾Afternoon classes: Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 17:30
    ◾Start date: Courses begin six times a year at each level (January, March, May, July, September, November)
    ◾Dates for Day Courses Intensive
    ◾Course fee: EUR 750
    ◾ECTS credits: This two-month course carries 9 ECTS credits

    You will participate in a morning or afternoon course. While we do our best to take account of your particular wishes,

     please understand that we cannot guarantee you a specific time of day.

    The following options can be reserved:

    Option 1: Time of day according to availability

    With this option, preferences are taken into account as far as possible when allocating participants to the morning or

    afternoon courses. However, there is no guarantee of a place at a specific time of day.

    Price: EUR 750

    Option 2: Guaranteed time of day

    With this option, a guaranteed morning or afternoon place can be reserved for a surcharge of EUR 60. This guarantees

    the participant a fixed place at the desired course time.


    Courses at all levels: 148 lessons

    The course can also be booked for only four weeks (the first half of the course or the second half).

Activity


  • Cultural activities

    Through variety of art,culture and history courses you can come closer to the life in Bayern. The cultural activities normally take place once a month. Only in July or August there will be two activities a month. The course participant take part in it with their friends or family.
