Why This School?

  • - As a well-established and high-quality school in excellent location in Southern Germany with broad reputation we provide outstanding education and benefits. Our prestige has been enhanced since more than 200 years of history.
    - clear pedagogical model since more than 200 years: we support and assist each individual in their learning and in managing their daily lives, while keeping in mind the special talents, interests and needs of each individual. Young people are provided with the ideal conditions for successful learning and extensive opportunities for purposeful leisure activities. We provide an approach that is fair, consistent and positive. It is our task and our goal to help students to learn to take responsibility for themselves and for others in today’s complex society.
    - With ten different types of schools and an unique permeability in all directions, we can offer each young person a path to a qualified education according to his/her current situation. Students have the opportunity to obtain any of the German general school leaving qualifications and various vocational school leaving qualifications in small classes.
    - Boarding school with golf school: improving handicap and academic achievements with our additional sporting offer. Beginners as well as performance-oriented golfers find ideal conditions to successfully combine school and golf. Our boarding school is within walking distance of the 18-hole course of the golf club Königsfeld and we work closely together with a renowned PGA-golf school. Two different modules are offered to give beginners the joy of golf and to optimally promote and train performance golfers.
    - After winning the state´s competition our students´ golf team participated in the nationwide sports finals of “youth trains for Olympia” in Berlin in September 2019. More than 470 school teams and 4500 students took part in this significant event, it was a great honor to meet the qualifications and being welcomed by the federal president of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Our golfers achieved 10th place in front of the teams from Saxony, Bremen and Saarland.

Zinzendorfschulen About the

  • The Zinzendorf schools in Königsfeld are among the largest state-recognized private schools with boarding schools. Christian values and cosmopolitanism have shaped the model of the school in Protestant sponsorship for more than 200 years.

The town Königsfeld is famous due to the residence of Albert Schweitzer and his family in the years 1923-1957. His only child, the daughter Rhena, visited Zinzendorfschulen until her successful - for girls highest possible at this time - final exam.

Our boarding school is open to students of all denominations and nationalities.

Sponsor: European Continental Province of the Moravian Church – Member of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKiD)

Close and mutual cooperation with the parents are the best basis for responsibility and trust. Regular and open communication is therefore crucial for a successful partnership.

During the school holidays our boarding house is closed. We assume that the students travel home during the summer and christmas/winter vacations.

  • Focus of Study :
Studying in Germany offers several advantages and a high-quality education. The German school system is one of the best worldwide. Entrepreneurship, a broad and momentous field of engineering, research & development and the world-famous academic and vocational training position lead to valuable options.

10 different school types provide the unique opportunity for any of the German general school leaving qualifications and various vocational school leaving qualifications. The qualification are accepted internationally. Each student can find a suitable school path. The fact that different types of schools are "under one roof" and many teachers teach in more than one type of school makes the individual paths in the school career particularly successful.

    School types
“Gymnasium”: offering general education and leads to the general higher education entrance qualification, which entitles to study any subject at all colleges/universities.

    4 routes obtaining Abitur

Gymnasium offering general education (G9) up to grade 13
Gymnasium specialising in social and health sciences (with psychology and education as the specialist option)

The Zinzendorf schools help young people to develop their strengths, to shape their lives responsibly and to find their way into our society. This includes not only the transfer of knowledge but also the development of creative talents and social skills.

Pupils should develop joy in their ability to accomplish and achieve something. We help our students - against the background of their own life goals, interests and values - to use their strengths and to set priorities.

Our students receive advice, tips and practical support from our wide network of teachers, parents, former pupils, specialists and external advisors.

Furthermore we lay focus on issues like
    learning the German language

    developing personally
    finding new friends
establishing solid and promising base for personal development and career

Benefit, Goal of this course :

A great advantage of having school and boarding house within one organization is that there can be a close exchange between school and boarding house e.g. tutors can participate in school conferences.

    Curriculum :
classes 5-13 depending on school type
school year scheduled according to official school holidays of the federal state Baden-Württemberg, starting in September
    learning campus between 12.00 – 17.30h (fridays until 15.30h)

    Learning facilities
The learning campus facilitates all aspects of learning and offers successful and differentiated learning solutions.
It is available to students at the same time and in the same place every afternoon. This maximises the degree of individualised learning, which is constantly supervised, coordinated and evaluated.

In addition to areas for group work, there are two quiet work rooms, five small group rooms, a computer room and four specialist subject rooms in which three to four teachers are always available to provide assistance to students.

    Structured learning
Students attend up to four study blocks in the afternoon at learning campus. During these they complete homework, learn together in groups or individually in separate rooms, talk to subject teachers or prepare for tests.
With the assistance of their tutors, students produce a study plan, which is always drawn up in advance for a period of 14 days.

This supports individualised learning and includes not only the student’s timetable but also his/her leisure time activities and any barriers to learning.

    German language support
