At the beginning of each course, students will be given a placement test that closely examines their English proficiency and thus places them in the appropriate level of class ranging from beginner to advanced, in six different difficulties. Also at the end of each term which lasts for twelve weeks, students will take a written exam and have teachers consult the result with them in order to receive personal feedbacks and advices. The exam will become the main tool to observe each student's progress. Progress reports will be handed out in a monthly term and a certificate will be issued at the end of the course by GEOS.

Students will have a private room with a bed, desk, and closet. They will also have most or all of their meals provided by the family. Private Residence
GEOS also offers residential apartments from September until
June, all of which are located in the general vicinity of the school. This
accommodation is shared with other international students. The apartments are
co-ed, however, shared bedrooms are same-gender. The apartments always include a
well-equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), a shared bathroom and living
areas. The apartments vary in location, size and number of bedrooms, but expect
to share with 2 – 3 other students.
It is important to note that private residences are
self-catering. Students are responsible for all meals.
