  • FFRIDDOEDD VILLAGE

    There are around 1,800 rooms on the site and most of the bedrooms have private bathrooms. Kitchens are shared between 6 – 8 students.    

    The village has a shop, launderettes, and common rooms. This is where you will find Bar Uno café bar and Canolfan Brailsford sports center. There is on-site security 24 hours a day and a team of mentors to help you. 

    All bedrooms have wi-fi and the accommodation price includes all bills (including wi-fi, heating, electricity, and water), gym membership, and Campus Life membership. 

    ST MARY'S VILLAGE

    St Mary's Village is located in an elevated position overlooking the city of Bangor. It is about 5 minutes' walk from the city centre and 10-15 minutes' walk from the train station and the Main University Building.

    St Mary's was opened in 2015 and has around 600 rooms, offering a range of accommodation including en-suite bedrooms, budget rooms, studio apartments and townhouses. There is one standard hall, Bryn Eithin, which has shared bathrooms and kitchens.

    The village has a café/shop, laundrette and common rooms and there is on-site security 24 hours a day. All bedrooms have wi-fi and the accommodation price includes all bills (including wi-fi, heating, electricity and water), gym membership and Campus Life membership.


Surrounding Area

  • Bangor is a city in Maine. On Main Street, a towering statue of folkloric lumberjack Paul Bunyan hints at Bangor’s former status as a timber hub. The Maine Discovery Museum has hands-on exhibits on nature, science and the arts, geared to kids. Nearby, the University of Maine Museum of Art focuses on modern and contemporary works. To the north, Bangor City Forest is crossed by trails and inhabited by beaver and deer.

Facilities

  • Canolfan Brailsford Sport Centre
    Canolfan Brailsford, the University's sport and leisure centre is located at Ffriddoedd. Indoor facilities include three gyms with the latest equipment, spin studios, sports halls, squash, tennis, netball and basketball courts and a climbing wall. Outdoors there are astro turf and grass football pitches.

    Bar Uno
    At the heart of the Ffriddoedd student accommodation, Bar Uno offers a diverse range of entertainment, hot meals and drinks, including Starbucks coffee. Open daily from 11am until late, Bar Uno is a great place to meet new people, relax and have a catch up with friends. It also has six TV screens connected to Sky Sports & BT Sports, so you won't miss out on any sporting events!

    Barlows shop/café
    Located in the centre of St Mary's Village, Barlows offers delicious food and drink options, including Starbucks coffee and a wide range of essential grocery items.

    Fitness Room
    There is a fitness room on-site, which has CV equipment and a selection of weight resistance machines. Students at St Mary's can also use the gym at Canolfan Brailsford in Ffriddoedd Village.
