Beijing International Bilingual Academy (VIVA) About the

  • We are a vibrant and joyful international school located in the beautiful Shunyi, suburb of Beiging. We have been growing steadily since our inception in 2006, as increasing numbers of both Chinese and foreign families are seeing the importance of being bilingual in two of the world's most important languages:English and Chinese. Our modern campus now comprises of Early Childhood Center, Elementary School and Middle-High school.

    Our learning culture at BIBA is one which combines rigor, discipline and traditions of Chinese teaching methods with the vibrant, stimulating and outward looking creativity of International methods. The result is a student body which loves to study hard and play hard-and in two languages!

    Fundamental to success of our BIBA program is the passion of our foreign and Chineese teaching staff members. They deliver not only our various academic programs(US National Standards, Chinese National Standards, MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP), but also they play an important role, via many non-academic initiatives, in the development of a holistic student.Our aim is that BIBA students will be confident,  competent, and well equipped to take on the challenges of our modern society with and international-mindedness.

  • Focus of Study :
    An overall goal of BIBA is to be the model for developing internationally-minded bilingual ambassadors, who promote inter-cultural understanding, respect and integration in a dynamic global community.

    Benefit, Goal of this course :
    Along with an increasing sense of independence as learners and as young people, they are beginning to develop an awareness of their responsibility towards others. Relationship with peers and with teachers become increasingly important. In middle school, these attributes of the adolescent years are best engaged by pedagogical strategies that emphasize individual exploration, collaboration and group work.

    Curriculum :
    The BIBA middle years curriculum will offer systematic and coherent opportunities for adolescents to learn and grow in ways that acknowledge and respect the individual and nature. The middle school curriculum places great emphasis on the development of intelligence on the basis of the knowledge of basic subjects in the international perspective, emphasizes students' participation and engagement, and their spiritual, emotional as well as social growth. The curriculum includes Academic and Well-being Programs, Outdoor Education Program, Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health, STEAM, Drama, Sciences, Community Service and Personal Projects.
