  • Focus of Study :
    The course is designed over five levels, from an elementary level through to upper intermediate level. Each level has a strong focus on core skills such as listening, reading, writing and speaking.

    Homestay allows students to live with a local family, as a part of the family. UOW College Homestay began life more than 15 years ago (formerly known as Australian Family Homestays) and has diligently cared for students and families over these many years. 

    Residence:

    There are a total of 1900 places in UOW managed accommodation with a choice of catered, self catered, single and twin rooms in different styles of accommodation. All student residences have access to the FREE Gong bus shuttle, with Kooloobong Village located on campus.

    There are 9 locations: Campus East, Weerona, International House, Kooloobong village,Graduate House, Keiraview, Marketview, Gundi, The Manor.

A: 您好，感謝您的來信詢問，關於學校附近的周圍環境，以下為您做個介紹。 主校區位在伍倫貢，是澳洲第九大城。另在雪梨設有商學院，在中東的杜拜也設有分校。伍倫貢校區面臨壯闊的海岸線，有美麗的白沙海灘，鄰近國家公園，但同時距市區僅十五分鐘的車程，開車到雪梨僅需一小時，生活機能相當方便，但消費比雪梨等大城市便宜許多。附近更有南半球最大的佛教寺廟-南天寺，是由伍倫貢市捐贈給臺灣佛光山興建的佛教聖地。 臥龍崗是新南威爾士州的伊拉瓦拉地區的主要城市，是澳大利亞第十大城市。農業，漁業，煤炭開採和鋼鐵製造繁榮，教育，電信業，製造業和旅遊業已成為未來的趨勢產業。

第一期語言學校的課程終於接近尾聲了，在五週的密集的特訓，總算有點進步。回首這五週，除了老師和寄宿家庭媽的指導之外，學校的聽力課程和閱讀課程對我的幫助最大。

在聽力課程中陳設了各式卡帶和教材，想聽新聞，故事，商業英文，音樂，甚至發音練習，應有盡有，和每一期課程相關主題的卡帶和講義也不少。而閱讀課程中，除了傳統教材和考試用書之外，還有種類繁多的雜誌和我最喜歡的小說區和報紙。

回想起剛到澳洲的時候，報紙只看得懂商業版，遇上版面很大的賽馬時，往往只能搖首長嘆。沒想到過沒兩週，居然遇上澳洲的年度盛事，這是澳洲賽馬的年度盛事，每天的報紙和新聞都在為這場年度盛事做暖身，澳洲人也慢慢進入瘋狂狀態，連老師上課時，也不忘稍為提一下，到了比賽前夕，連市公所都不見人影比賽下午三點開賽。

這麼大的賽馬比賽讓人難免想預測到底哪匹馬會奪冠，這時我才真正體會到澳洲人的賭癮實在不小，除了賽馬，各式球賽也是下注的對象，甚至彩券也比我們多很多種。在經過耳濡目染後，頓時發現賽馬新聞親切許多，實在是一大收穫。
