The International English as a Second Language Program at Lane Community College is also well known for its experienced instructors and high standards in preparing students for transferring to credit programs and meeting their individual goals. International students appreciate the personal attention they receive from the faculty and staff. Community colleges usually have arrangements with universities so that the credits students earn during their two years of study at community colleges are easily transferable to allow students to finish the last two years of their four-year bachelor's degree at a university of their choice.

Course Information

  • Focus of Study and Benefit :
    Intensive English Program is designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succed academiccally in a American college or university, professionally in individual's career field and socially. In a small classroom setting of 10 to 15 people, students can interact with instructors more freely both inside and outside of classroom. The program primarily focuses on Reading, Writng, Listening and Speaking

    Curriculum :

    The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at Lane Community College provides intensive English language training to a wide cross-section of residents in Lane County. This program enrolls students from more than 40 different nations and features staff who are highly-qualified and culturally-sensitive to the needs of second language learners. Students are placed in one of eight levels based on their placement test. The supplemental classes include reading, writing, TOEFL preparation and college success for ESL learners.
    Classroom Hour : Class schedule may vary for each level.

  • Titan Court is Lane's student housing. International and American students from Lane, University of Oregon, and Northwest Christian University live together in apartments at Titan Court. There are weekly activities led by student Resident Advisors to help students get to know their roommates, easy access to tons of restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores, and washing machines that will text you when your clothes are clean! There are a variety of apartment types available.

  • Eugene is a special city known as the running capital of the U.S.A. Students like Eugene, a university town, because of its safe environment, beautiful nature, healthy air, and quality of life. They like the fact that Eugene is quieter than larger cities and provides an environment which makes it easy to study. Oregon is well known for its tourism, wood products, sporting goods companies (Nike and Columbia Sportswear), and its high technology companies (Oregon Scientific, and Tektronix).

半年間、短期で留学をしていました。
宿泊施設は、キャンパス内にある学生寮に半年間住んでいました!

アメリカ留学の口コミを見ていると、
車がないと不便、治安が悪いので夜の出歩きは注意、などよく見ていたのですが、
レーンコミュニティカレッジ周辺は、車がなくても全然大丈夫でしたし、アメリカの中でも住みやすい街で有名な街なので
治安も結構よかったですし、半年間何もトラブルなく快適に過ごせました!

私が受講していたコースは、集中英語コースなんですが、
入学時に、クラス分けテストを受けるので自分のレベルに合ったクラスで授業を受けるので
授業についていけない、、、などの心配もなく、勉強が出来ました。
授業中は、発言の機会も多く設けられているので、会話力もだいぶつきました!

我在短期內在國外學習了半年。
住宿在校園內的學生宿舍住了半年!

回顧在美國留學的評論,
沒有汽車是不方便的,安全性不好,所以我仔細觀察,例如,
萊恩社區學院附近的地區沒有汽車也沒問題,它以宜居城市而聞名,即使在美國也是如此
安全也很好,我可以在半年內毫無麻煩地度過一段時間!

我參加的課程是一門強化英語課程,
由於我在入學時接受了分級考試,因此我會選擇與我的水平相匹配的課程
我能夠學習,不用擔心無法聽課,等等。
在課堂上,有很多發言機會,所以我有很多談話技巧!
