  • For over 30 years, LADO International College has specialized in providing quality and comprehensive English language instruction. Over 3,000 students attend LADO's nationally accredited school each year and experience first-hand the LADO difference. With three locations in and around Washington, DC, LADO International College is situated near some of the most important cultural and historical sites in the United States. LADO students enjoy recreational and cultural opportunities, including field trips, picnics, parties, sporting events, and social activities. LADO's proven methodology is based on the work of renowned applied linguist, Dr. Robert Lado. LADO methodology integrates every aspect of language learning: reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and pronunciation. In the Intensive Program, students can expect to reach college-level proficiency in about one year. LADO offers a variety of programs suited to different lifestyles. Whether students are interested in a full-time, intensive program, or a quality evening or weekend experience, LADO has a program for each individuals.   • Focus of Study and Benefits:
    LADO's Intensive English Program is designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succed academiccally in a American college or university, professionally in individual's career field and socially. In a small classroom setting of 10 to 15 people, students can interact with instructors more freely both inside and outside of classroom. The program primarily focuses on Reading, Writng, Listening and Speaking.

    Curriculum :
    LADO's Intensive Program is designed for students who want to progress rapidly and see immediate results. Classes are held four days per week during the day. Each session lasts four weeks. The Intensive Program is the only option for students with an F-1 student visa. Based on their placement test results, students are placed in 10 levels of English instructions. LADO International College offers a variety of programs suited to different lifestyles. All programsrun year round.
     
    Classroom Hour : Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 1:55 pm for Morning Intensive, 2:00-5:45/6:00-9:45 for Afternoon and Evening Intensive

高校生ときからずっとアメリカ留学が目標だった私は、大学２年次に休学して留学をしています。
ここの語学学校をえらんだのは、観光地が結構あるのと、日本人留学生が他の地域に比べて少ないということで
ラド・インターナショナル・インスティテュートのワシントンD.C.校に決めました。

授業は、口コミで見ていた通り、文法、聞き取り、読解、会話など、
大学進学や就職を目指している学生向けの授業なので、バランスよくレベルの高い授業で、毎日つめつめで勉強しています。

現在は、ホームステイをしていますが、学校近くに引っ越そうと思っています。
学校と自宅が少し距離があるのと、仲良くなったクラスのトルコの子と一緒にルームフェアをすることにしたので
ホームステイから切り替える予定です。
学校と自宅が少し距離があること以外に不便なことはなく、とても親切なファミリーだったので
ホームステイもとてもお薦めです～！

高采寧

課程主要是跟口語有關，畢竟我們在學校所學的英文能力能藉此發揮，才能習慣成自然，我是這樣想的。課堂第一天，老師與班上學生討論有興趣的議題與所期待能在這門課中獲得什麼，選擇自己所感興趣的，然後盡情參與其中。

有趣的是，一個班級就如同文化的大熔爐，觀點與文化的不同常會互相腦力激盪而後產生獨特的見解，比如說，某次上課主題為社群網站，討論過程中，可以了解到不同國情文化使用社群網絡的現象與特色。
不同於我們對於上課的刻板肅穆氛圍，課堂中取而代之的是如同歡樂的宴會氣氛，每位同學皆踴躍的表達自己的看法，同時也尊重他人的不同見地，若討論到敏感議題時例如政治，如何有風度地接受別人的看法，並且機智給予回應，是我在這個月當中所學到的寶貴經驗，不僅止於課堂討論，同學之間相處也是不吝給予指點，並當下指出你的錯誤迅速解決問題，避免問題隨著時間擴大與複雜化，這也是令我印象最深刻的。如何有技巧的不讓對方感到不舒服與保持組內的和諧，在這短短的一個月當中，我確實學到不少。
