  • Valparaiso University is a selective, independent Lutheran institution in Valparaiso, Indiana, an hour’s drive from Chicago. Founded in 1859, Valpo offers a thorough grounding in the liberal arts as well as professional training and graduate study, helping students find their own paths to lifelong personal, spiritual, and professional growth. The University offers more than 70 majors in five undergraduate colleges and over 40 master's and two doctorate degrees in graduate school. With its emphasis on international globalization, Valpo has study centers located in England, Germany, Costa Rica and China with 17 international programs. Hundreds of students participate annually in concerts, plays and exhibitions, with access to state-of-the-art performance facilities.

Conditional admission

  • Some students have strong academic backgrounds and training but have not had enough preparation in English, as measured by the TOEFL test.  These students are given conditional admission to.  They attend INTERLINK to improve their English.  When they complete INTERLINK's English program, they are fully admitted.  No TOEFL score is required in this instance.

  • A "homestay" is a cultural exchange in which a person visiting or temporarily staying in another country lives with a family in the host country. Homestays involve relationships between people and should not be confused with a boarding-house or hotel experience in which a person only rents a room. While students pay their own expenses for room and board, the purpose of an INTERLINK homestay is not just to provide a place to stay but to create an enriching learning experience for both the student and the host family. There are homestays for short periods (one night or a weekend) and for longer times (a vacation period, a term, several terms).

  • Valparaiso is a safe, friendly community of 31,000. From its convenient location in Northwest Indiana, residents can enjoy the cultural and intellectual life of the city of Chicago, which is one hour northwest, the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan and the natural beauty of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, which are just 20 minutes north. Valparaiso's attractive downtown area includes a shop-lined main street and neighborhoods of handsome 100-year-old residences. Dramas and musicals are presented at the historical Memorial Opera House while the city's many parks offer excellent recreational opportunities.

這所學校是一個相對比較小的學校，但是學校具有非常溫馨的家庭氣氛。
學校的設施都非常發達，生活但並沒有感到不便。
也有很多商店和咖啡廳在附近，地理位置非常方便。
每個班級都是屬於小班制，人數也有限制，教師在上課時也都會照顧到每個學生，讓我有很好的機會可以加強練習英文，學校也有來至世界各國的學生，讓我教到很多外國朋友的同時，又能精進自己的英文。非常推薦的學校!!!
