University of North Dakota About the

  • University of North Dakota is a public research university located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. UND is the oldest and largest university in the state and was founded as a university with a strong liberal arts foundation and is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a doctoral/research-intensive institution. UND offers a variety of professional and specialized programs, including the only schools of law and medicine in the state, but is perhaps best known for its John D. Odegard School of aerospace Sciences which trains air traffic controllers and pilots from around the world. It is the first university to offer a degree in unmanned aircraft systems operations. UND specializes in aerospace, health sciences, nutrition, energy and environmental protection, and engineering research. A limited number of singles available upon special request (for extra cost). Students clean their own rooms during their stay. Self-service laundry machines are available in the same dormitory building for a small fee. Security: Dormitories are secured. 整體我很喜歡,老師很親切,如果你有什麼不懂,老師會用最簡單的單字和肢體語言跟你解釋,讓你能很容易知道,學校也提供很好的學生休息室,給我們可以吃午餐及跟其他學生聊天,每一個月學校也會舉辦活動,讓我們去參加。

來這裡我最喜歡我的寄住家庭,寄宿家庭媽媽煮飯很好吃,只要他們有什麼活動,他們也會邀請我們,並帶我們一起參與,晚上一起吃飯聊天,雖然一開始聽不太懂,但久了你的英文會進步,也會有不同國家的室友,你們可以一起聊天一起交流不同的文化。
原本我一直煩惱,我的英文說得這麼爛,來到一個人生地不熟又語言不通的國家,只有我一個人沒有認識任何人,我該怎麼辦,直到我真的來到了這裡,我很慶幸有這機會自己也沒有放棄這個機會,來到這裡發現我之前所想的都是白擔心了,雖然英文很爛但只要你試著說加上肢體語言,別人都是聽得懂得,我收穫最大就是,不管想做什麼事,不要放棄,做就對了。踏出台灣才知道自己的不足,台灣有很多地方還沒這麼進步,這可能就是增進國際視野吧!!
