  • Dallas Baptist University (DBU) is a Christian liberal arts university in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1898 as Decatur Baptist College, Dallas Baptist University currently operates campuses in Dallas, Plano, and Hurst.The university is divided into seven colleges: the Mary C. Crowley College of Christian Faith, the Dorothy M. Bush College of Education, the College of Business, the College of Fine Arts, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and the College of Professional Studies.[16] The university also houses two schools: the Graduate School of Ministry, as well as the Gary Cook School of Leadership.The university offers the Ed.D. in educational leadership and the Ph.D. in leadership studies through the Cook School of Leadership and the Ed.D. in educational leadership K-12 through the Bush College of Education. The university has 84 undergraduate programs, 24 master's programs, and 2 doctoral programsDallas Baptist University's Patriot Athletic Department sponsors 15 intercollegiate athletics teams that compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). All teams compete at the NCAA Division II level and compete in the Lone Star Conference, with the exception of the baseball team, which is a member of the Division I Missouri Valley Conference, which they joined in the 2014 season

    The Intensive English Program of Dallas Baptist University teaches international students English through a Christian perspective.  Students can learn through face-to-face and online English instruction to help them achieve their academic and professional goals.

    All Intensive English Program courses are taught by caring and helpful professors on the beautiful and safe Dallas Baptist University campus located in Dallas, Texas, USA. Intensive English Program class sizes are kept small to increase the rate and quality of learning; classes are typically between 6 and 14 students.
    During the Intensive English Program, students will engage in many cultural activities, including field trips to local destinations and regular interaction with American students, volunteers, and families. Our International Student Services will assist you with housing, meals, and campus services. We offer a free tutoring program, which will give you the individual help needed to succeed even faster!



    Curriculum :
    The Intensive English Program at Dallas Baptist University offers a full-time English instruction course taught by highly qualified, experienced English-speaking professors. The Intensive English Program is available in fast, 8-week courses that are offered throughout the year in the Spring (2 sessions), Summer, and Fall (2 sessions).

    University academic program
    The program is 8 weeks long, with 24 hours of weekly instruction, including laboratories.

    English for Communication
    or students who would like to strengthen their English skills for personal or professional reasons. Course work focuses on enabling the student to thrive in English conversations and written interactions.

    The program is 8 weeks long, with 18-21 hours of weekly instruction with an optional weekly seminar.
    Course content focuses on Conversation, Grammar, and Reading, as well as Writing for Communication and Pronunciation classes.

    Course content focuses on grammar, composition, conversation, reading, and academic skills.

    DBU's Residence halls provide a vibrant community aimed to serve students in their academic journey as they transition to Dallas Baptist University. The Residence Halls are filled with a variety of students including new freshman, transfer students, returning upperclassmen, and even international students. Each Residence Hall is overseen by a Resident Director and additionally, each individual wing is overseen by a Resident Assistant. These individuals help foster relationships with new and returning students as well as aid in the adjusting to university life. 

    University Apartments
    DBU's Apartment-style housing provides students with a unique opportunity to transition from the University Residence Halls into upperclassman housing. From the picturesque neighborhood setting and residential living, the University Apartments offer a variety of options for students to live in both the Colonial Village and Mabee Village neighborhoods. There are four distinct styles of apartment-style housing offered on campus:Apartments, Townhomes, Brownstones 

    John and Nita Ford Village
    On a beautiful twenty-acre area of land on the east side of campus sits Ford Village, DBU’s first Residential College. Often referred to as Living-Learning Communities, Residential Colleges have a tradition spanning back to the founding of the English college system in Oxford and Cambridge, in which students of similar vocational callings lived together.

  • Dallas, a modern metropolis in north Texas, is a commercial and cultural hub of the region. Downtown’s Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza commemorates the site of President John F.
