About the  Embry-Riddle Language Institute (ERLI)

  • The mission of the Embry-Riddle Language Institute is to provide high-quality English language instruction that prepares speakers of other languages to enter and succeed in Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University or another U.S. university.
    ERLI is an intensive, English for academic purposes program with an experienced core faculty, a strong social/cultural education program, and an academically strong curriculum, including aviation-related topics.

  • Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) is a private university focused on aviation and aerospace programs. Founded at Lunken Field in Cincinnati in 1926, today its main campuses are located in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona, United States. It is the largest accredited university system specializing in aviation and aerospace.[6] It has numerous online programs and academic programs offered at satellite locations.


Course Information

  • Focus of Study :
    Embry-Riddle Language Institute's intensive English program prepares students for academic study in a university environment. However, the program is also well-suited to people who wish simply to raise their overall proficiency in English.


    Benefit, Goal of this course :
    The ERLI program offers core skills and special topics courses. ERLI has four levels of instruction from high-beginning through advanced and it is possible for students to split levels.

    Curriculum :
    Beginner-English conversation patterns, informal speeches, role-playing, vocabulary development, group discussions and rules of pronunciation, as well as note-taking and listening comprehension strategies
    Intermediate-
    develop note-taking techniques along with summarizing and discussion strategies
    Advanced-develop critical thinking through academic topics with a focus on listening comprehension and speaking skills essential for success at American universities

  • Living on campus is an exciting opportunity for Embry-Riddle students. Our eight residence halls and one off-campus housing complex are a great way to make positive and lasting friendships. ERAU students often characterize their time in the residence halls as the best part of their college experience. In the words of a student of Class 2016, "Without a doubt, living on campus is my favorite thing about being in college."


Facilities

  • Adams and Wood Halls
    Adams Hall

    Adams and Wood Halls are located in the Student Village on campus and are five-story buildings designated for first-year students. Students have the option between a standard double room or a triple room. In a standard double room, two students share a room and two rooms share a bathroom. In a triple room, three students share a room and share a bathroom with another room. Dining options: In-Flight Cargo convenience store located on the first floor of the Student Village.

     

    Apollo Hall
    Apollo Hall is designated for second-year students along with junior, senior, and graduate students if space is available. The 256-bed residential suite-style facility is located just a short walking distance from the current Eagle Fitness Center, the future Fitness Complex, and the Mori Hosseini Student Union.

     

    Chanute Complex
    Chanute Complex
    Chanute Complex Apartments is a 78-unit apartment complex operated by Embry-Riddle to provide apartment-style housing for second-year students along with junior, senior, and graduate students if space is available. Located on a picturesque lake just 1.5 miles south of campus, it is an easy bike ride to classes and within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. ERAU Student Government Association operates a shuttle from Chanute to main campus.

     

    Doolittle Hall
    Doolittle Hall is a three-story residence hall typical of traditional university housing and is designated for
    first and second-year students. It is located near the center of campus near the Eagle Fitness Center. Basketball, volleyball courts, and barbecue grills are nearby.

     
    New Residence Hall 1 and New Residence Hall 2New Residence Halls 1 and 2
    New Residence Hall 1 opened in January 2017 and New Residence Hall 2 opened in Fall of 2019
    and they are both located near the center of campus. These five-story facilities offer suite-style living to
    first-year students.

     

    New Residence Hall 3New Residence Hall 3
    Opening in Fall 2021, New Residence Hall 3 is a
    seven-story facility located at the heart of campus. This central location will provide easy access to the Mori Hosseini Student Union and future Fitness Complex.
    Four students will share a four-bedroom apartment, and each student will have their own bedroom and bathroom.

     

    O'Connor Hall
    O'Connor Hall
    O’Connor Hall is located in the Student Village on campus and offers apartment-style living for second-year students along with junior, senior, and graduate students if space is available. Students in O’Connor Hall share four-bedroom apartments, with two students per bedroom. Dining options: In-Flight Cargo convenience store located in the Student Village.

     


    Stimpson Hall
    Stimpson Hall is also located in the Student Village and features efficiency-style apartment living, for second-year students along with junior, senior, and graduate students if space is available Each apartment has a two-person bedroom, bathroom, and a separate study/living room. Dining options: In-Flight Cargo convenience store located in the Student Village.
